Joan of Arc - Maid of Heaven

The Song of Joan of Arc
By Christine de Pisan
Stanza 45

Yet destroying the English invader
is not, indeed, her primary concern.
For her calling is in preserving
the Faith that everyone should learn.
As for the English, whether it be joy,
or sorrow, they will never rise again.
In future days they will be scorned
and despised as they have become a bane.
